MOUSSAKA WITH SARDINES AND POTATOES
( for 6 persons)

ingredients:

  • 2 cans of sardines in tomato sauce
  • 1 onion ( chopped )
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 kg potatoes ( sliced )
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 dl sour cream

preparation:
Mix the sardines and tomato sauce from the can.
Heat one tablespoon of oil ( from the can ) in a heavy - based pan and gently fry the chopped onion. Remove it from the fire.
Arrange a layer of sliced potatoes on the bottom of a large buttered fireproof dish . Cover with a layer of the prepared mixture of the fish and tomato juice, and fried onion, another layer of potatoes and so on, until is used up ; finish with a layer of potatoes.
Each layer of potatoes sprinkle with salt and pepper .

Spoon the beaten eggs over the moussaka and bake in the oven,
pre-heated to 225 C, for 45 min.
