preparation :
Cut up sardines in small pieces, chop the hot pepper and mix it
together.
Heat one tablespoon of oil ( from the can ) in a heavy - based pan
and gently fry the chopped onion. Remove it from the fire .
Arrange a layer of sliced potatoes on the bottom of a large buttered
fireproof dish . Cover with a layer of the fish, hot pepper and
fried onion, another layer of potatoes and so on, until is used
up ; finish with a layer of potatoes.
Each layer of potatoes sprinkle with salt .
